About EBARC
The East Bay Amateur Radio Club (EBARC) in Richmond, California was founded over 50 years ago by a group of local amateur radio operators. While our purpose is mainly social, club members provide a variety of services to the community including:
- Teaching ham radio and electronics classes
- Conducting ham radio license examinations
- Providing emergency communications services
- Providing radio communications for public events (e.g., walk-a-thons)
EBARC maintains a club station in Richmond, complete with several HF transceivers, tower-mounted yagi antennas, VHF/UHF stations for local emergency communication, our own off-the-grid power source, and a packet station.
We welcome both licensed ham operators and the general public to become club members and to participate in our monthly meetings and other club activities. A copy of the club’s bylaws is available here in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format: EBARC Bylaws. A copy of our Membership Application Form is also available here in PDF format: Membership Application.
Regular club meetings are held on the 2nd Friday of each month at 7:30pm and run for about 2 hours.
Meeting Location:
